Why is a badgers arse considered particularly tight?

I thought it was ‘rough as a badgers arse’, as in hungover 😂

It's not.

A barber's arse is rough.

It's as tight as a gnat's (chuff) arse, or even a duck's (cause that's watertight).

You are mixing your metaphors.

Maybe that's it. It was on a other thread. Rough would make more sense than tight.

I've always been told "Rough as a badgers arse" comes from the territorial rump wounds badgers inflict on each other when fighting.

Also told "tighter than a ducks arse" is because a ducks bum is in the water and they don't want to let any water in otherwise they ll sink, hence being tight lol

Or as my dad likes to say about a certain someone 'they're so tight their arse squeaks when they walk from clenching their area cheeks together'
