Tight as a badgers arse

Why is a badgers arse considered particularly tight?

amusedbush · 02/06/2020 21:49

I thought it was ‘rough as a badgers arse’, as in hungover 😂

BalloonSlayer · 02/06/2020 21:50

It's not.

A barber's arse is rough.

It's as tight as a gnat's (chuff) arse, or even a duck's (cause that's watertight).

You are mixing your metaphors.

RippleEffects · 02/06/2020 21:51

Maybe that's it. It was on a other thread. Rough would make more sense than tight.

MayFayner · 02/06/2020 21:51

Tight as a tic’s arse?

Duck’s arse makes sense though.

dementedma · 02/06/2020 21:52

That's a bit harsh on barbers, balloon

cheesyrats · 02/06/2020 21:54

It's 'tight as a crab's arse'.

RippleEffects · 02/06/2020 21:54

I hadn't ever thought of a crab having a bum

Barbers tight arses aren’t a patch on the tightness of a hairdresser’s hoof.

First thing they teach you in beauty school that.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 02/06/2020 21:56

And it’s gnat’s chuff or dick’s arse in nature.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 02/06/2020 21:57

Ha! Duck’s arse.

I can’t speak for Dick! Grin

Smallsteps88 · 02/06/2020 21:57

Grin @ barbers arse!

BalloonSlayer · 02/06/2020 22:04

You lot obviously haven't been to a barbers round where I live ! Grin

Dear oh dear I looked at "threads I'm on" and wondered whose autocorrect had come up with barbers & it turned out to be mine!

Cobourg · 02/06/2020 22:42

I’m with @cheesyrats

It’s definitely crabs arse

ArseholesOnToast · 02/06/2020 23:06

Badgers are rough.

Ducks and crabs are tight.

cheesyrats · 02/06/2020 23:47

Well. Posting on a thread discussing the relative merits of the backsides of assorted wildlife is not something I expected to be doing tonight Grin

Lordfrontpaw · 02/06/2020 23:49

I always thought it was ‘tight as a fish’s arse (and that’s watertight)’ as my dear old mamma used to say.

EatsShootsAndRuns · 02/06/2020 23:49

Tight as a gnat’s arse.

Lordfrontpaw · 02/06/2020 23:49

Badgers and bears have rough derrières.

Pippinsqueak · 02/06/2020 23:54

I've always been told "Rough as a badgers arse" comes from the territorial rump wounds badgers inflict on each other when fighting.

Also told "tighter than a ducks arse" is because a ducks bum is in the water and they don't want to let any water in otherwise they ll sink, hence being tight lol

houseinthemiddleofthestreet · 02/06/2020 23:56

In Canada, we say beaver's.

FranklyDearIDontRiverdance · 02/06/2020 23:57

Ours was always ‘tighter than a nun’s fanny’ Grin

CoffeeRunner · 02/06/2020 23:58

Ooo. This has to be regional. It’s tighter than a gnat’s chuff. But a chuff isn’t an anus.

Lordfrontpaw · 02/06/2020 23:58

Sinking ducks🤣

SpillTheTeaa · 03/06/2020 00:01

I've heard of tight as a ducks arse.
Or as my dad likes to say about a certain someone 'they're so tight their arse squeaks when they walk from clenching their area cheeks together' Grin

SpillTheTeaa · 03/06/2020 00:02

Arse not area 😂.
He also adds they clench because they're scared any loose change might fall out
