Does anyone do comping (competitions) as a hobby?

If you do, how do you do it? I’ve got links for a couple of companies that want a subscription to get access. Are they worth it?

What have you won?

I used to, for about five years. Used the comping forum on MoneySavingExpert to find competitions to enter; I estimate for 1-2 hours work per night I won an average of £1.5k per year - a lot of small stuff, but also some holidays, gadgets etc. I stopped because I didn’t have time any more, but it was fun while it lasted! I never used the paid sites, I’m not sure they’re worth it.

Thankyou, that’s encouraging!

Which paid sites have you seen?

A good free site is loquat- they Tend to tell you where to find comps.
I used to do competitions a few years ago when there was an element to them like a tie breaker but now they seem mainly free draws or sharing on Facebook.
I was quite successful - I won an all expenses trip to New York...this was only surpassed by winning my weight in Ben and Jerry’s Icecream and a years supply of Krispy Kreme donuts.
