Lockdown has given me a chance to think about the future. I'm a keyworker and have worked throughout and whilst I'm glad that I've been able to earn it's made me realise I don't want to do this job anymore.
So where does a 42 year old start when all they know is the job they've done since leaving college at 18?!
I don't want to progress further in my current role and actually I think I'd like a complete change. I don't feel very confident starting again though as so many people younger than me will be more experienced and from friends I've heard that they don't even get an interview anyway.
Would a course in something I'd like to do be worth it? Was considering a course in admin but not sure which one?
Feel like I want to make a fresh start but stuck with what to do
Any advice welcome

What are you in now? I know you say you want a complete change but could you side step?

I work in the NHS too, and a lot of my managers do business degrees to get to OSM level. Is that something you'd be interested in if you're thinking abut admin?

I'm not NHS but a healthcare role
I've seen a few vacancies in the nhs that I've looked at but I don't have the experience or right skills for the administration side

I don't think you should take the experience/qualifications bit as gospel, if you like the look of something there's no harm in applying. I managed to get a med sec job with only small administrative experience
