A good present idea for a 6 year old?

Need to send a birthday pressie Asap for a friend's child - what the hell do they like these days?! Nothing too girly or pink (though she does like that). I'd a combo of a book and a toy - but what's cool these days?!

Usborne magic painting books, there's loads to choose from, they're about £5 each and the quality and illustrations are lovely.
