Does anyone else ever feel lazy

compared to other people? I think I'm really lazy and out of step with the rest of society tbh. Everyone else seems to work hard at their job, do lots of stuff outside work, work on themselves, exercise etc. I basically always do the bare minimum and my favourite thing to do is nothing. I don't know what's wrong with me. I feel guilty quite a lot. Society seems to value being productive and busy and I am not for the most part. I have no excuse either; I'm not I'll or disadvantaged in any way and this adds to the guilt.

I'm the same 🤷🏼‍♀️ the idea of being busy all the time just doesn't sound at all appealing.!!

NuffSaidSam · 02/06/2020 18:33

You just need to rebrand OP.

You're not lazy, you're easygoing and content.

RainbowFlowers · 02/06/2020 18:41

If you're satisfied the only thing you need to change is letting go of the guilt.

I am a lazy person I do have fibromyalgia but I was lazy before being diagnosed, I sleep a lot. I can’t be bothered with a lot of things. My SIL posts on FB from the gym at 6am and I’m like go away you attention seeker. Like you I’m happy doing nothing.

I am. And I fight it everyday to not be. Literally everyday. I could leave my kitchen a mess. And five years ago I would have. But I now make myself get up and do it. No matter how tired I am.
My teenager is lazy ( as they all are ) and I felt like a hypercritical mother when I moaned at him. So I had to change.
Believe me when I say it is a battle everyday.

I used to think I was very motivated. Turns out, in the absence of time pressure to get everything done, I do very little. I've opted for the above suggestion of rebranding: when I have to I can, and if I don't have to I may nap instead.

I am inherently lazy. I work, I clean, I exercise, all grudgingly and I could definitely try harder at all of them but ultimately I want to be sitting on my lazy fat arse drinking wine watching films or reading.

I'm lazy especially at the moment, I just don't have any motivation and enjoy my own company.

I know what you mean. I do a fair bit, make sure everything’s done at home, exercise, etc. But if I don’t have to, I won’t.

A good friend of mine has 5 kids, works full time, runs a cake making business, is a school governor, and runs a kids club once a week. I’m sure there’s more but that’s all I can think of right now. She just can’t sit idle, loves to be busy.
