PS4 to Xbox help needed please!

Ds has a PS4 and wants to play minecraft with his friend who has an Xbox
He's got onto her game but they can't chat using headsets? Does anyone know how to do this please?

Most cross play games mean no party and in game chat only, switch to game char but I don’t play Minecraft.

I sorted it ( well sort of) downloaded the Xbox app on phone and they voice chat through that whilst playing the game

So it's not proper but he's the happiest he's been since school shut bless him
