DP is self employed and works in security, he is asthmatic and so is our 5yr old son so we have been isolating for 11 weeks to protect him.
DP was offered a job working a few hours every evening at a local park just making sure there wasnt any trouble and keeping teenagers out of the playarea which is closed for obvious reasons. Tonight it his first shift and in the first 30mins he has been spat at twice. Hes worked in security for 25yrs and has been punched, kicked, threatened plenty of times but what the hell is wrong with people? Who the hell spits at someone when theres a bloody virus going round that is killing people?
I am absolutely livid and now terrified that a job we thought would be reasonably safe (remit is to step back and call police if theres trouble and not step in under any circumstances just film with body cam and is 100% outside) has put our son in danger, we had enough savings to float us for 3mths and then got the self employed grant last week so could just about manage if he said he wasnt going back and stayed home until his regular job starts back hopefully next month (he works predominantly on film sets) but i am utterly pissed off because we will have to continue struggling financially because some people cant behave like decent human beings!
