hi all,

so partner took some chicken breasts out of the freezer yesterday around 6 in the evening, took them out at about quarter past 5 today and put them in the oven.

hes just said that he doesnt think they were completely defrosted. I'm now not sure whether I want to eat them or not. have had conflicting opinions from parents (one said definitely not but they worry anyway, the other said they cant see the harm as long as they are cooked a bit longer and a safe temp all the way through)

thoughts?

thanks!

They will be fine and were probably defrosted after all that time anyway. Just make sure they are piping hot in the middle.

Yes they would have been 99% defrosted anyway if they had 23 hours and 45 mins defrosting, they say 24 hours in the fridge but that is a guide not absolute, the 15 mins won't have made that much difference. And so long as they are cooked all the way through they will be fine, at worst the texture may be a bit funny...

I’m pretty sure it will be fine. I usually take things out of freezer the night before for the next day’s dinner and it’s always fine (obviously not a roast!). If in doubt, take it out, cut in half, see if it looks uncooked in the middle. If so, cut them all down the middle and cook a bit longer until cooked.
