@ITonyah @NaturalBornWoman - thanks for the patronising 'get a hobby'

I'm expressing my opinion - so sorry that offends. And I don't feel sad at all. Just a bit cross. And so what if the article was last year - it's still relevant.

Perhaps you could both do your hobby and not chime in with patronising comments on a thread you're not interested in.

Yes on a public forum where anyone can comment, not just people who agree with you.

Quite - I'm still waiting to hear your actual views on the topic. So far you have commented on the state of my mental health and how I need to get a hobby. A bit personal don't you think?

I was looking for a more general discussion...

I am interested. I’m interested in pointing out gratuitous shit stirring wherever I see it and I’m every bit as entitled to express my opinion as you are.

Oh apologies, I quoted the wrong post. I was responding to

I think that both Cummings and Gove are on the autistic spectrum.
Both highly intelligent, both totally devoid of empathy.
Possibly Cummings more so with his narcistic personality.

Nat6999 · 01/06/2020 13:52

Because he is arrogant & doesn't give a shit. If a woman turned up at parliament looking like DC she would be ripped to shreds.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 01/06/2020 13:58

Because he's a "psychopath" (D Cameron) and likes to strut about like a pile of dirty washing ordering about people who would be disciplined for not wearing shiny enough shoes.

Parker231 · 01/06/2020 14:03

Why does he ( or anyone else) needs to wear a suit if they don’t want to? Wearing a suit doesn’t command respect or enable you to do the job better or worse than anyone else.

ShirleyB25 · 01/06/2020 14:03

@Nat6999 - that's it exactly. He's on a higher pay than an MP.

The flack that Diane Abbott got for drinking one tin of 'Mojito' from M and S on the tube - utterly ridiculous. She openly apologises anyway.

Dominic Cummings flouts the rules that he helped design, and does not think it appropriate to apologise. Unbelievable.

Urgh who cares?

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 01/06/2020 14:12

I like to think that, in younger years, whilst trussed up in an ill-fitting suit, he came across this poem:
When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple
with a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
and satin candles, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired
and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
and run my stick along the public railings
and make up for the sobriety of my youth.

Why Dominic Cummings doesn't wear a fucking suit
derxa · 01/06/2020 14:14

Of all the bloody things to get annoyed about.

x2boys · 01/06/2020 15:20

Yes because of course every body on the autistic spectrum are highly intelligent and devoid of empathy🙄

ITonyah · 01/06/2020 15:52

Are there howls of outrage from the same people who demanded Tracey Brabin dress professionally and respectfully a few months ago?

Good point!

derxa · 01/06/2020 15:59

I think DC looks handsome in his suit. Wink

Baaaahhhhh · 01/06/2020 16:05

Walkingtohealth - I suggested that the other day on another post, the mother of an autistic child took umbridge, and my post was deleted !

Baaaahhhhh · 01/06/2020 16:08

On dress, I honestly don't care. He's not supposed to be in the public eye, he is a back room "boy". He can wear what he wants. It is much more important as to what he does, than what he wears..... and there we have an issue.

Lots of non-customer facing roles now have casual dress. In many companies even at high level, most executives now wear smart casual, shirts and chino's. Very rare to now wear a suit every day.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 01/06/2020 16:09

Derxa, it certainly gives one a better idea of what Mary Wakefield saw in him.

WhatWouldDominicDo · 01/06/2020 16:13

If I turned up to work dressed the way Dom does, I'd be sent home to change, or at least told to buck my ideas up by the next day. He looks like he's been sleeping on the streets most days.

FliesandPies · 01/06/2020 16:14

^^yy
It's a power trip - I'm a Special Adviser, not just another drone in a suit and if you don't like what I wear you can fuck off 'cause i'm protected.

WhatWouldDominicDo · 01/06/2020 16:14

Even in that photo of him in a suit his shoes are dirty.

viagrafalls · 01/06/2020 16:15

@Lucywilde

Because he’s an arrogant shit would be my guess
Absolutely this. It just smacks of contempt. He's a prick!
Saucery · 01/06/2020 16:17

How many times do we have to put up with the autistic = no empathy/narcissistic bollocks?

Yes, I’ve taken ‘umbridge’ (sic) and no, I’m not the mother of an autistic child. Just someone who doesn’t Other autism and talk utter shite about it.

In answer to the OP, there’s an awful lot to dislike about Cummings but the way he dresses isn’t one of them for me.

curtainsforme · 01/06/2020 16:19

Can people maybe just stop attributing everything to autism Angry

Literally every other fucking post has the armchair diagnosis brigade out in force.

Abusive man? Must be autistic

Unruly child? Autistic

Scruffy clothes? Autistic

Can people maybe engage their brains for just a millisecond.
