Why are people phoning me to say they've had a missed call from me?!

I keep getting phone calls (two within a week, but generally once a week or two) from people saying they've had a missed call from me. I haven't phoned them, definitely not pocket calls or anything like that.

Does this happen to anyone else? Or any ideas why this is happening?

From your contacts or strangers? If it's from unknown numbers then someone may have spoofed your phone number.

From strangers! Someone in Italy last week, and I seem to have had a lot of random calls from Italy over the past few months, although I'm not sure if these are return calls (ie they think I've phoned them) as they don't speak English. I had assumed they were mis-dialled or wrong number.

That link is interesting Queen and it's just occurred to me that I have my number withheld at the moment due to making calls for work, but obviously it's showing up for these people.
