where have they gone? used to hear about these all the time but not heard about any recent ones

have they stopped....whoever made them died?

I think once it was clear they were a hoax the public lost interest (I mean, I knew they were fake but there were some tin foilers out there convinced that ET had popped by for a Maccies).

they were so symmetrical!! I was never convinced a human could create something like that

I liked the magic they brought

Was it ever confirmed how they were made or who made them?

Usually with planks, strings & computer printouts.

was it really the 80's, it feels like only yesterday they were appearing! The air of excitement when one came on the news was memorable

The only known cause of crop circles is humans. Perhaps one day a mysterious, unknown source will be discovered for crop circles, but until the perhaps they are best thought of as collective public art.

Doug and Dave started it off, but others joined in with ever more complex designs. I remember watching a documentary when some idiot was rambling about 'how you could feel the energy in the circle', much to the amusement of the guy who had made it.

I know someone who makes them, they still do it. Not frequently though. They just aren't 'news' anymore.

With so many cameras/phones/drones around now it would be too hard to get away with now.
