Talk to me about Northamptonshire

DH has been offered a job in Northampton (with 1 or 2 days per week in Kettering). It's the chance he's been waiting for and we would be mad not to take it. But we live in South Yorkshire at the moment and know nothing about the area. I get the impression that the towns aren't particularly nice (sorry just saying what I've heard). We would definitely want to live in a village. Live in suburbia at the moment and have wanted to move somewhere more rural for a long time anyway. Budget is about 325k and we have two children under 5. Thoughts welcome!

We need your support to help us Explore the future of Children’s Community Health Services

We are writing to seek your support in helping us to engage children and families from all communities within Northamptonshire, to have their say on our local community health and wellbeing services for children and young people from 0-19yrs.
Northamptonshire Public Health and NHS Northamptonshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are two organisations responsible for providing health and wellbeing services for children and young people in Northamptonshire. We are starting the process of reviewing some of the community health and wellbeing services we commission and we really value the voice and experiences of our children and their parents/carers.
Working together will enable us to gather feedback that will represent the social and cultural diversity of the people living in Northamptonshire.
We are really interested in hearing the views of children aged 5-19 from their own perspective; and from the parents of children aged 0-19, whether they have used our services before or not. This will enable us to get an understanding of their experiences, both positive and negative, but also to find out what is important to young people about their health and wellbeing.
We have created three separate questionnaires, one for children aged 5-10, one for young people aged 11-19; and one aimed at parents/carers with children aged 0-19. They will be available as a link which can be accessed on the Northampton County Council web site, in a designated area called - ‘Citizen Space’. We hope that you would be willing to add the same link, and a short description, to your community web site, and/or, Facebook page.
The links to the surveys are below:-
5-10 questionnaire - northamptonshire.citizenspace.com/public-health/cyp-community-health-services-5-10
11-19 questionnaire - northamptonshire.citizenspace.com/public-health/cyp-community-health-services-11-19
Parent/carer questionnaire - northamptonshire.citizenspace.com/public-health/cyp-community-health-services-parent-carer
Your support will be invaluable in helping us reach young people who may be willing to share their experiences, and ensuring that the voices of young people from cultural and religious groups are listened to. We have attached some graphics that you may wish to use. The survey has been designed to run digitally however we know this may not be appropriate for everyone. Paper copies can be made available upon request – please let us know if you require any.

The surveys will be open for four weeks (6th August – 4th September) and the findings will not only tell us about experiences and values but will be used to modernise services and inform future commissioning.
We would also welcome your comments and any suggestions about how we could further develop engagement opportunities, to ensure that the views of everyone are listened to as we develop and improve children’s services across Northamptonshire.
