Anyone done private tests?

At the end of my tether with my health. Wrote another post earlier about coming off the mini pill and it has not had responses. Not the most interesting post really and everyone is different.

I'm going through a few different symptoms at the moment. Started with iron issues. I have bad periods and take iron for anemia. I came off the mini pill seven weeks ago and have had two periods. I was only on the pill for 4.5 weeks and bled for 4 weeks.

Lately I've been feeling

Fatigue
Nauseous
Drained
Constipated
Just a general off feeling.

I am sick to death of my drs surgery. It has 6-7 weeks waiting times usually. With Corona you are not allowed in. They have slowly started opening up for bloods but you need a mask.

I feel I want more tests. I am a mum and these symptoms are ruining huge chunks of the week for me and my kids. I never have any energy so therefore we do less things than I'd like. I also don't enjoy evenings as i just need my bed.

There are many tests online at superdrug and medicheck.

Hormone tests
Thyroid tests etc.

Has anyone ever done these home tests? I'm just so tired of waiting. I've spoken to the drs 5 times since march and I get the same Dr no matter who I request. He's new. He should never have given me the mini-pill with my being anemic. All other drs told me I couldn't have it. He told me i would be ok. He has now told me I can go on the combi pill or suffer. I'm too young for surgery. He obviously didn't say suffer but he may aswel have.

To be honest your symptoms sound like how I felt when I was anaemic? Keep taking the iron tablets and have another blood test in a couple of months, hopefully you will feel better.

Hi yes I've been on them for 3 months. 2 weeks ago I changed to spatone and try and take two tablets a week. I have lost the weak chest and general can't move feeling. The nausea and tiredness is horrible.

My stomach is so fizzy. It feels like a bottle of coke that's been shaken up. It's so odd.

In a moment of madness I ordered a thriva test the other day. It arrived yesterday but I am putting it off because I am a baby and don't want to stab my finger.

It's not cheap but might be worth a try?

What's that to check for? I could get my partner to prick my finger I guess. I just want answers. I'm so fed up.

@Tolivebytheseaahh

I did medichecks ''Well Woman UltraVit Blood Test'' before lockdown. Paid extra £25 for my blood to taken by nurse in the hospital.

Initially you need to fill out questionnaire about your lifestyle, health and medical history and vital statistics (weight, height, blood pressure). You can comment what concerns you the most.

Then you get test in the mail. Get your blood and send to lab. From ordering the kit on Monday, getting my blood taken on Wednesday and sent the same day. I had results on Friday same week.

It is very detailed test and covers hormones (including Thyroid function), kidney and liver functions, diabetes, proteins, vitamins. I also received a cover letter from a doctor commenting on some issues (some of the results were in ''red'' zone).

I highly recommend them considering that regular waiting time at my GP is 6 weeks!

Maybe change GP surgery OP? I did it recently and it was easy to Do and quick. The difference in the two surgeries was like night and day. Although changing may not be so easy on lockdown.

I would say you need evaluating properly and a thorough set of bloods done. There are so many possibilities with your symptoms.

Hope you feel better soon. Good luck.
