I am trying to completely revamp my none existent skin care routine and wanted to start using The Ordinary products but am completely confused about what products I should be using and when!! Could anyone advise? I am 48 so interested in anti ageing products, no other big problems apart from eye bags so any advice would be very gratefully received!!

The best anti ageing product is Retinol, it doesn't agree with everyone so you have to start with the lowest concentration, apply it every other night and work up. You will have to wear SPF on your face as it makes your skin vulnerable to sun damage. Retinol makes my skin red and patchy so I prefer Matrixyl which is still anti ageing but kinder to skin. You only need a few drops at night on a clean face. I have dry skin so I then use either Cold Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil or Argan Oil as I need extra hydration. I haven't used any Ordinary cleansing products but I know people like the Squalane cleanser. For day time, I use a Pixi cleanser, then The Ordinary hyaluronic acid followed by a few drops of squalane which is brilliant for dry skin. I then use a Korres moisturiser and SPF. Lots of people swear by their Buffet serum but I've never used it.

Similar brands are The Inkey List which I love and Boots stock a brand called Revolution who also do brilliant low price hyaluronic acid, retinol, matrixyl etc. Lots of brands are now catching on to the low cost, basic ingredients idea so read up on them as you don't have to stick to The Ordinary. I also use their serum foundation which is great.

I’m 4 weeks into using the ordinary products. I emailed them and told them my skin type and concerns and they give you recommendations. It has helped, my skin feels a lot better and is starting to look a lot better too. Search for the ordinary chat room on google and it simplifies a lot of things

There is also an example regimine for "signs of aging" on the ordinary website which you might find helpful Smile
