Anyone ordered from Ikea recently?

The item I was says available for delivery and available at our nearest store.

But when I go through the checkout process it sends to to Click&Collect at a store miles away .

Are they doing delivery at the moment? The website says the store is opening "soon" (with all the relevant safety restrictions)

Anyone know? TIA

Wow, strange coincidence. Literally had a delivery today of wardrobes. Ordered only a few days ago. First delivery from IKEA, usually got to the store.

RJnomore1 · 30/05/2020 22:34

I did

I ordered a blind, it took a few weeks but was delivered with no issues.

onetwothreeadventure · 30/05/2020 22:37

I ordered yesterday (and it's coming tomorrow, the excitement is unreal!). My delivery options depended on the item. I was choosing between office chairs and when I added one of the chairs it only offered me collection for the entire order, another chair allowed express delivery and another regular. When I took out the chairs I could choose any of the 3 options.

I've found when it says available for delivery in the item screen it isn't always available when I put in my postcode.

They are. If you want a van delivery, put something cheap and enormous into your basket because the type of items you want determine what your shipping options are.

What’s the coincidence @EndothermicHands? Confused

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/05/2020 22:56

Damn, I just tried again, put in my PostCode and it comes up with "How would you like to recieve your order" but only gives me the option of collect in store or Order&Collection Point .

Is there a step I'm missing? Or do I just wait for them to open?

I ordered a few things mid March. Was told delivery by 15th May, thought OK fine, it's not urgent. My order turned up on 15th May as promised, so I was happy.

returnofthecat · 30/05/2020 22:59

I'm struggling to think of what you could possibly buy from IKEA that was undeliverable... Maybe they've just run out of delivery slots in your area for the time being?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/05/2020 22:59

The item is enormous (wardrobe) so not something I can even cart home in my motor .

Including delivery , (if it;s £29 as advertised) will be £400 )

Yeah , I think it might be delivery to my area- it's not given me the option of Lakeside , only Edmonton.

Dh has had a couple of deliveries.
One item arrived Friday but was broken. There has been no way to contact them.

I get the feeling that they are putting delivery on hold to get the stores up and running again.

returnofthecat · 30/05/2020 23:02

Oh, they would deliver a wardrobe for £29, so it does sound like they've just run out of slots locally. Are you in a hurry?

If it can wait, I would just have another look in a week's time. Do bear in mind though that when slots open, you will have to wait at least a few weeks anyway to receive your order.

I’ve ordered this week and not being delivered till end of June

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/05/2020 23:36

Yeah we can wait , we went there (pre lockdown) for DD to have a look at them.

I can imagine it'll be mad busy when they do open though.

Not sure click and collect is available at all stores as I wanted something last year it despite it being in stock at both Birmingham and Nottingham only Nottingham offered click and collect as an option.

LaaLaaLanded · 31/05/2020 10:30

I live right next to an Ikea so I'll try and report in tomorrow on the queue situation! It's manic on ordinary days and at weekends you can't use the road that does past as it's so busy.

LaaLaaLanded · 31/05/2020 10:33

"Our Click and collect service is now available at our IKEA Belfast, Bristol, Exeter, Leeds, Tottenham, Warrington and Wembley stores with contact-free collections and social distancing measures in place. You will have the option to select your preferred store and collection date, as soon as the next day. You will receive an email once your order is ready. Please remember to collect only on your selected date."

BarbaraofSeville · 31/05/2020 10:50

I ordered in early may and was given 4 June as a delivery date. It was for some curtain rails that are online only anyway.

I also need a couple of small items and live fairly close to the Leeds store. I was planning on going up next week about half an hour before closing but might look into click and collect if they're doing that as I don't want to have to queue or go round the whole shop at browsing pace, rather run in through the short cuts, grab my items, pay and out.

DinosApple · 31/05/2020 11:19

I only want a four high Kallax, but delivery doubles the cost which is really annoying. Sadly I can't justify it at the moment.

I was hoping to be able to pick up from Norwich (for a tenner I think), but when I went to basket my only option was to have a delivery instead. Confused

DMCWelshcakes · 31/05/2020 11:23

Ordered some loungers and covers back in April. Covers arrived via DHL a few weeks ago and the loungers arrived in a van last weekend as promised. No issues other than the delivery time being much longer than usual.
