Flight radar fans - what was this?

So today I saw an Airbus land at Edinburgh airport and immediately take off again, a classic circuit and bump, skimming or not touching down at all, and It did the same again having swung round over the bridges.

FR24 tells me it was an RAF plane from Brize Norton heading for Edinburgh - so perhaps on a training mission?

On the second circuit it then headed east out into the Firth of Forth, never getting much above 3000 feet, and did a series of turns, allegedly flying at under 100 feet at times.

Thoughts?

Does look like training manoeuvres.

Haworthia · 30/05/2020 21:16

Might have been performing a low pass or a “touch and go” practice manoeuvre.

It’s more the bit out over the Forth so low that surprised me.

An RAF plane from Brize did something similar around Blackpool a couple of weeks ago. There were videos shared on FB of it nearly landing and then going back up again.

Same thing over North Wales a few weeks back. It was in the news. No answer though.

Bumps and circuits training.
