Anyone tried the bin liner paddling pool trick?

For those who haven't heard of it, you basically cover your paddling pool with black bin liners and the sun will heat the pool water in about 45 mins.

Has anyone tried this? It sounds genius and I will try it myself tomorrow.

My mum did but apparently didn't work. Don't know how long she tried it for though

Well this is disappointing. I thought you were going to tell me how to make a paddling pool out of a black bin bag.

It's bollocks. 20+ here today, binbags in for 2 hours. No difference.

not tried it but surely depends on size of pool and temp outside?

The thing is though a bucket or 2 of hot water will heat it up instantly. Why wait 45 minutes.
