Never ending period?

I’m on year 3 of the contraceptive implant and have never had any issues. I’m now into day 18 of the never ending period. It’s not heavy and is a light brown colour. I’ve had A clear smear test recently. Do I need to contact my GP or is it likely to be an implant going a bit crazy thing?

Should mention in between it’s stopped for a day or two and then started again, but never heavy and never fresh blood.

Really? I had put it down to just one of those things.

Do you know if as the implant runs out if it’s normal for it to cause random prolonged bleeding?

I had this and basically part of it stops working, not the contraceptive part but the hormone part. Trying to describe it as best as I can. Soon as I had mine changed it stopped.

Thanks @overlywrong I’m hoping that’s all it is. My appointment to have the implant replaced has been cancelled so I expect it may be something I just need to put up with for a while.

It would be worth phoning your GP for a chat (mine is going phone appointments) but I’d put money on it being because your implant has come to the end of its life.
