Morrisons delivery question

Katinski · 30/05/2020 12:36

I'm shielding and disabled cos my legs don't work. I've completed a delivery for Monday, and it's a big one. Will they come into my kitchen to unpack it, or leave a crate on my doorstep for me to unpack, anyone know?
Thanks.

They will leave bags on your doorstep not the crate.

Pippapotomus · 30/05/2020 12:39

They used to bring it into my porch for me. Now they put the crates on the front step and back away while I take then in.

Maybe phone customer services? They might be able to add a note asking for help. Honestly I wouldn't think a driver would just watch you struggle.

if Morrison's can't help, try your local coronavirus support group - there is a massive network of volunteers usually contactable via facebook.

this could also be one for the NHS volunteers, you should be allowed to use the phone line to ask for assistance. Most people are not and the phone line has not been well publicised, so most of the volunteers have not had anything to do. Details on the link.

Thank you all SO much.
Plan of action, first, I'll contact Customer Services. I'm quite new to this Legless malarky and it's throwing up problems new to me. I think Morries are great and really helpful. Oh! and I once met Wm Morrison! He died just a few years ago and used to go, incognito, to his stores and talk to shoppers. That's how I met him. What an absolute Star he was!

If you contact your local (Parish?) council, they will probably have a volunteer that will be willing and able to help Smile

I worked in a concession in the original flagship store many moons ago, and the store managers definitely used to get the memo that he was on his way beforehand. We’d know because all of a sudden, everyone was cleaning every thing, and the trolley lads would be hoovering the front bit of the car park Grin

He was a very nice man.

"hoovering the front bit of the car park" GrinGrinGrin

Agree, he really WAS a very nice man! And my local Morries staff are so helpful tooFlowers

Well, I went on the Morries site, got the phone no. but then looked at the drop-down menu of Q and Answers. Seems that they'll deliver to front door/porch and then it's up to me or these mythical 'friends and family' to help me. So my plan will be to mascara-up, flutter my lashes in a "can you help me, please?" It's worked before, fingers X'd it'll help me now. Course, I was about 40+ years younger then, do you think that matters?Grin
Again, thanks everyone for your replies.
