What are you all doing today?

I'm enjoying listening to the birds, through the open kitchen window atm. If I had some garden furniture then I'd sit outside.

I'll get dressed and wake dd2 shortly. She wants to take her park for a ride round the park but she's ginger & burns easily so I want to go early. We have to walk it there though because she's not confident on paths

I need to get the washer on, wash last night's pots, and paint the other shelves in my pantry whilst cleaning/tidying it up.

Not sure what dd1 wants to do yet - I'll find out when she gets up.

We're having a new paddling pool delivered at some point today. I popped the old one accidentally Blush so they'll more than likely use that when it arrives.

Poached eggs and beans on toast for tea I think, and I'll probably have a glass or two of wine later on.

What about you lot? Anyone up to much on this lovely day? :)

I've been up since 5am, been at the stables to sort horses and took dogs on a long walk whilst it's still cool.
I've pottered in the green house, cleaned up and put some washing out.
I'm going to do a big cooked breakfast when everyone is awake.
Hoping to have a nap later, on a 12 hour night shift, got 4 of the buggers Confused
A+E will be busy tonight with lots of drunken people falling over, standard when the weather is so nice! Cant wait Grin

Morning lucysmam Smile

I was intending to sit outside with a coffee once the children had finished breakfast. But DS (4) sidetracked me with a puzzle so we had a (very uncharacteristic) wholesome time working on that instead, and now he’s playing pirates while DD reads. Usually they’d be glazed over staring at Netflix right now, I don’t quite understand what’s happening. I guess I’ll make that coffee and go sit out!

DH is having a lie in, when he gets up he’s probably got a list of gardening jobs in mind. I’m hoping to persuade DD (7) to practise bike riding, it is veeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrryyyyyyy slow progress. DS will scoot around taunting her, but she finds that quite motivating Grin

DeepfriedPizza · 30/05/2020 09:16

Went for a run. Hung a washing out, filled the paddling pool. Just going to do a bit of reading and chilling out today. M&s ready meals for dinner as can't be arsed

lucysmam · 30/05/2020 09:17

@dalmatianmad does it still get busy even with no pubs open?

I meant we're taking dd's bike to the park, in my OP...no idea why I wrote park Confused

We don't have a garden so despite all the gorgeous weather recently I've been stuck inside! Now Scotland is in phase 1 I'm off out to the park shortly and I'm super excited! I'll pick up some lunch on the way and some trashy magazines and ill also bring my kindle and I just can't wait to feel the sun warm my shoulders.

dalmatianmad · 30/05/2020 09:22

When Covid peaked we were very quiet and had no "crappy" stuff and just sadly had very poorly patients but now it's back to normal.
People fighting and falling over.
It was amazing how quiet we were, we didnt see any of the time wasters or "regulars' Hmm

lucysmam · 30/05/2020 09:22

@FromTheAllotment definitely sieze the opportunity and sit out with your coffee! I love my peaceful weekend morning cuppa :)

Doing a bank shift this afternoon, then I'm of for 3 lovely days where I plan to sit in the garden and chill with cold g&ts...

dalmatianmad · 30/05/2020 09:23

I feel so sorry for people that don't have a garden in this glorious weather, it must be so difficult, especially if you have kids

Xiaoxiong · 30/05/2020 09:23

I'm still in bed Grin will get up in a minute to see if the butcher has dropped round the meat order, then I'm making fake sausage McMuffins for breakfast. After that I'm mixing up some sourdough to shape today, prove in fridge overnight and bake tomorrow.

We have a couple of hours of tidying to do at some point before the cleaner comes, but apart from that, no plans!! May go down and sit by the river for a bit.

JoMarches · 30/05/2020 09:26

Rehydrating after last nights socially distancing meet up.....

lucysmam · 30/05/2020 09:26

@Plump82 enjoy the park! Take sunscreen though, I burned in half an hour on the playground at work on Monday.

Just getting up after a nice lie in following a week of 9 hours days wfh. Shower, then a lazy coffee outside for me.

Then I had better tackle some washing and last nights dishes.

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 30/05/2020 09:28

I’ve not long since got up, DP was on the early shift with DS this morning so I got a lovely lie in.
Got the washer on, currently splodged on the sofa with DS watching his favourite episode on a show he loves about dinosaurs.
DSD is coming round for the afternoon, we’re having a slap up tea of waffles, beans and a fried egg on top.
We’re just going to potter about in the garden, play games, splash in the paddling pool, just have a bit of fun together. It’s going to be lovely.

DonLewis · 30/05/2020 09:28

A power cut at 530 meant we were up for the day listening to all of the burglar alarms going off. I've done some washing, defrosted the freezer and now we're cleaning the fascias! Gardening this afternoon. Feels like lunchtime already!

lucysmam · 30/05/2020 09:37

@PawPatrolMakesMeDrink your tea sounds lovely; I've not had potato waffles in ages...think they might go on my shopping list for my next shop 😋

@DonLewis crikey that's productive! I'd have been sat round drinking coffee and farting about on t'interweb more than likely

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 30/05/2020 09:44

We’ve not had them in years either @lucysmam but I saw them in the freezer section of Asda and I really fancied them!
We’ll be having our standard plate of nibbly bits that we have on a sunny weekend, some sarnies, chopped peppers, slices of watermelon, grapes. Makes me feel less guilty about the nutrient deficient tea!

MinnieMountain · 30/05/2020 10:09

DS and DH have had their Minecraft session whilst I made a lemon drizzle cake and listened to Radio 4.

I'm currently supervising DS getting ready (he's 6 but a right faffer). Then we're going for a bike ride to a nature reserve. We have scotch eggs for lunch.

MIL is going back to her house to check on her garden.

Main meal today is afternoon tea.

This evening DH and I will have a drink by the river whilst MIL babysits. There are advantages to her moving in for lockdown Grin

lucysmam · 30/05/2020 10:47

@Minnie Mountain drinks by the river sounds nice and relaxing Wine

Well, 1st time out since last summer and I'm in an empty park. So of course the couple who want to whistle, sing and scream at each other while chucking a ball between them obviously need to set up their stuff right next to me. 😡
