Costco withdrawal symptoms

Anyone else experiences this?
I know you cans till go, but I went the first week of lockdown and the anxiety really ruined it for me so I haven't been back. Plus DH is super anxious about the supermarkets so we have been getting deliveries where possible.
I really want some of their yummy satsumas and apples and strawberries and their meals. And stuff.
Am I alone here?

I actually find the protection that Costco have put in place really good. I went last week, got there for opening, the queue was long, but it took me 10 minutes to get in. There was more than enough space for social distancing and there was no queue to pay. Even managed to get a takeaway for the children.

We've been 3 times since lockdown and I think Costco have handled it really well. They are very organised with queueing, cleaning trolleys and only allowing a certain amount of people in. Plus, the store is so big it's pretty easy to distance.
I do miss the free food samples though 😁

They do some v nice trays of pastries..

I always go at about 8pm. Not much of a queue and not many people inside. I'm in and out in 20 mins.

It's ok, if helps. They aren't doing free samples 😭😭😭😭😭

Teacher12345 · 30/05/2020 09:05

I agree they were pretty good but it is so big that it takes ages to get around and I like to browse the books etc and feel like you have to rush round because of others queing.
Plus whilst we can get supermarket deliveries, DH is nervous about going into stores and I don't want to make it worse for him by going juust to satisfy a want for myself.

Ours (Stevenage) didn't have the book table

EmpressJewel · 30/05/2020 09:27

Don't browse, just go to get the items you want.

I think your DH needs to focus on managing his anxiety. It is worrying going out, but I assume he can't self isolate indefinitely. He may be self isolating for medical reasons, but that aside, he needs to try and work through this.

Yes agreed the no samples thing makes it more boring.

Mine (Stevenage) was bloody awful last week.

We've not been anywhere since lockdown aside from a small pharmacy but as I had a hospital appointment that day decided to go and stock up a bit but no-one seemed to be paying any attention to social distancing and it really freaked me out!

One lady came up behind me as I was lifting something from the bottom shelf so I didn't see her and leant right across me to get something!

As I was leaving through their new one way system two staff members coming back inside walked into the narrow bit as I was coming out instead of waiting until I was through (I was already coming out when they came round the corner and couldn't move anywhere) I do understand it must be really difficult for staff to enforce things with customers in the store but this was totally them just not bothering.

Will go in the evening next time as a PP suggests.

I did buy a massive bag of panko shrimp and loads of lovely houmous which makes it all worthwhile though GrinGrin

But you kinda have to browse by they move things, stop items randomly (you don't know this until you've schlepped up and down a few aisles, you first think they've moved it!) and there's always new things to look at/try
