Air conditioning recommendations for the house?

I know I’m looking at £400-£500, and they are bad for the environment. But working from home and the heat that the electrics put out for the sake of my sanity I need one this year, not going on holiday so can spend the money!

Any recommendations? I know I need to buy a window adapter kit as well I think.

If you've landed here looking for ways to beat the heat this summer, we’ve recently updated our best air conditioner page with lots of great Mumsnetter-approved AC units, plus info on whether they’re the right choice for you! We hope it’s useful.

@Heatherj96 which one do you have and from where? I was about to order one mentioned up thread from pro breeze but on trust pilot they’ve got bad reviews for not being next day/ no customer service to phone.
