Joint account or something else?

Just looking for recommendations for the easiest way of splitting household expenses. It doesn’t need to be for any direct debits as they’re taken care of separately but ideally an account which we would both put an equal amount into each month and then be able to use for things like food shopping/paying the window cleaner etc.

At the moment it’s all very ad hoc and DP will always give me money for anything I’ve paid for but it just seems a hassle for him to transfer each time I go food shopping or top up the gas meter or buy something for the house.

We bought have current accounts with LLoyds plus Revolut cards. Is there an easy way we can both have access to an account and a debit card for it? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I’ve never lived with anyone before!

Joint account and credit card with one of you named as an additional cardholder. Both of you can pay in, all household bills paid from that account.

No need for a debit card on the joint account as it's only for joint bills.

Partner and I have a starling joint account.
Very easy to manage, all done online.
And we both get texts any time there is any expenditure.

Sorry just to clarify it wouldn’t be for direct debits as we rent from a family member so these are mostly included. It’s more for general expenses like food shopping so we would need a debit card

Joint account, i know you said it's not for Direct debits but I'd say probably easiest way to go about it. Both have a card and like everything else access to online banking to transfer any money
