Would you eat this gammon?

I just remembered I had a gammon joint in the fridge and it has yesterday as the use by date. It smells fine. I'm usually fairly cautious with this kind of thing but I'm so annoyed with myself for wasting it! It's from a local farm if that makes any difference.

What do you think?

Yes, it will be absolutely fine. Food doesn't magically go off on the use by date.

FelicityBeedle · 29/05/2020 13:51

It’s preserved anyway, I would definitely eat it

It will be fine cook it ASAP

Yes I’d eat it and I think you normally have a good day on the use by date. Especially as it smells fine. I’ve been doing this more in lockdown.! Only a day over but I’d it smells ok I’ll eat it.

If it smells fine, eat it.

TemoraryUsername · 29/05/2020 13:57

If it's been in a fridge that is sn appropriate temperature yes I would. Isn't gammon quite salty (and therefore well preserved) anyway?

Thanks all, you've convinced me, it's cooking now Grin
