Fortnite on PS4 question!

My DS is playing Fortnite but is becoming very frustrated because he can hear his friends but they cannot hear him. What do I need to do so that he can be heard by the other players? Please help!

It could be that the microphone is switched to "mute".

He hasn't got a headset, maybe this is the problem!!

He likes that the speaker bit is so long and says his friends understand him better with that than the another one he has with a shorter speaker thingie (sorry, I do not know the technical term.

But often his group of friends does not talk through the PS4, but through group calls on their mobiles - maybe that is an option for your ds in the meantime?
