I’m out of ideas. What are you doing with your kids today

Last day of half term. I’m taking the day off completely. DD Y6 and going to school Monday. DS Y3 and will be in KW care a for some days from next week.
They haven’t had the attention I’d like to have been able to give them, due to full time work, albeit sometimes from home.
I have a rose tinted idea of a last nice day together. In reality, we’re all probably a bit sick of each other, quietly anxious about next week, I’m regretful about all the things I haven’t gone, and DD doesn’t like heat much.
So, any ideas about how to spend the day? (I realise I didn’t need to write any of the above, but it’s there now!)

Step 1: I will drag the paddling pool out from under the house and see if it is functional.

Paddling pool, water fight, slip and slide (have you got an old shower curtain or tarpaulin?) picnic lunch and garden games.

If your DD doesn’t like the sunshine too much have you got a gazebo or pop up tent to provide some shade? Maybe pitch a tent and camp tonight?

I'm taking the day off too. I'm taking the kids for a picnic in the park. It's a really beautiful (and huge) park with a lake. We love it there. To be honest my kids will complain and say they want to stay at home on their gadgets/watching TV but they'll enjoy it once they're there!
