I live in the South East and house prices are so high. Something lockdown has taught us is that my husband can work anywhere and we wouldn’t lose income if we moved to a cheaper area. Keep same job etc. I don’t work.

Our families live in the SE and we have 4 young children although we don’t get any help for childcare. They are just nearby to pop in for a coffee etc.

If you were me would you move to a cheaper county for a bigger house and more space for the children.

If so where would you go? I’m worried about connections for the children when they are older.

Please be kind, I’ve never ever left the SE except on holidays.

Thanks in advance x

I live 5-6 hours drive away from my mum (she is widowed and single). We both moved away from where I grew up, and went in opposite directions. It’s hard living this far apart, particularly now. I wouldn’t move more than a couple of hours drive from family OP. I imagine that even a couple of hours is still limiting.
