How does frugi compare to Next/M&S size wise?

I want to buy my 18 week old some clothes from Frugi but he's sort of between sizes on their size guide. His waist is too big for the 3-6 but the length is way too long on the 6-12. Does anyone know how the size compares to Next/M&S so I've got some sort of idea? Everything 3-6 from Next is too tight on his waist now but M&S 3-6 is still fitting him. I want stuff that will fit him now for over the summer not really that he has to grow into Smile

Frugi come up a size big. The baby range is cut for cloth nappies, so roomy on the bum. Lovely cotton though and it has a great 2nd hand market.

Older season frugi if buying pre loved is very big. Newer season frugi is more true to size. On the bigger side though as they're cut for cloth nappies.

I find their stuff generous (same with similar brands, I've found.)

How do you find the waistbands are they tight or are they on the generous side too?

Waist bands aren’t tight usually, although it depends on what you are buying. Parsnip pants are very soft, with roll top waist bands (for instance).

As a guide my tall (but fairly thin) 5.5 year old is still wearing 3-4 parsnip pants!

I find them quite true to size these days. Older second hand stuff is enormous. My (massive) 17 month old still fits in 3-6 month vests from there!

The newer stuff is TTS in my experience.
They are cut for cloth nappies so will be a bit bigger on the bum area.
