I am confused by this.
what happens if you don't have a phone that can download the ap?
or if like me you don't use the internet on your phone(and according to adult ds my phone won't download it)
or you don't have a phone at all.......???

There isn't going to be an app for the foreseeable future.
Anyone testing positive will have to pass on contacts who will be told to isolate.
Which is daft. We don't see anyone we know by name, but presumably might pick up the virus in a supermarket?

If you're spending more than 15 minutes closer than 2 metres from people when you're in the supermarket, you're doing it wrong.

Apart from your own household, any medical appointments and your work if you're a carer, medical professional or similar, you shouldn't be in such close contact with anyone, so the number of people that need to be contacted will be very small and you'll know who they are and how they can be contacted.

Plus if you have close contact with people at work, you should be provided with PPE, and that's only after all appropriate measures have been taken to avoid close contact.

So it's only medical staff, carers and possibly teachers/childcare workers who could trigger the track and trace requirement, and they know who their patients/clients/users are.
