Got the phone call today to say please return to the office tomorrow!

More then happy! Just worried that I've adopted a slower pace of life!! It'll be fine I'm sure!!

Yippee! I'm going back to work! 😁😁

Brilliant news OP. I went back from furlough last week and I'm so happy to be working again.

itsgettingweird · 28/05/2020 08:29

I've worked through this as a keyworker.

I've only walked the farmland near me and gone to supermarket out side of this - so followed lockdown rules properly.

But I'm soooooooo pleased for you. I can honestly say it's been my colleagues and having work that has kept me sane through all this.

GnomeDePlume · 28/05/2020 08:31

Great news, congratulations!

I have been WFH throughout. My only worry would be squashing my now circular feet into office footwear. I have been barefoot for so long I think I will have to fold my feet up.

Have you/your team been pushing for your return? Was there resistance from senior management?

userxx · 28/05/2020 08:36

@itsgettingweird Absolutely agree, I would have lost my mind long ago if I hadn't been working.

ThanosSavedMe · 28/05/2020 08:39

Great news!

TheQueensWave · 28/05/2020 08:52

Maybe you work with me, I find out today too! I’m hoping to not though. Young kids and no childcare, plus I’m enjoying not working!

SweetPetrichor · 28/05/2020 09:26

Great news! I was unfurloughed 3 weeks ago and felt the exact same way - although I was working from home still once unfurloughed. It's such a relief to get back to work.
I also got one days notice, for those that may be interested. I was contacted and asked if I could open the laptop and start working the next day cause the funds had been cleared for me to start on a project. My furlough notice from the company did say they'd give a weeks notice but they asked if I would waive this and I was perfectly happy to do so...no kids to organise around for me.

@nellyburt I'm admin for car showroom, so we are doing click and collect and then open to showroom customers from Monday.

Trousers fitted! Tops a bit tight! But so glad to be back! On lunch now, but I've only had breakfast so far (whereas furlough I'd be 20 snacks in by now 🙊)

Mad isn't it though?! I mostly enjoyed furlough, but the last three weeks have been testing (other reasons too) so my manager and myself have been pushing to get me back.

Yippee! Was so excited I was awake at 4am!

Good Luck to everyone else, hope it happens soon for you!

I'm back in work today. Bit of a shock to the system!

ClientQ · 28/05/2020 13:52

@OldSpeclkledHen similar job here (aftersales) and I am off furlough and WFH Smile

DramaAlpaca · 28/05/2020 15:25

I posted yesterday that I'm back at work three days and enjoying it. Got asked today to work my full five days from next week. I guess I have to, but I don't want to!

Talcott2007 · 28/05/2020 15:34

I've been back since last monday - had the call the Friday before but still WFH which is a double edged sword with a pre-school DD! Really glad to be back as I love my work but have definitely been thrown in the deep end as there is so much to do (linked to the probable re-opening of schools and nurseries) I am exhausted! I normally only work pt (30hrs) but I'm doing more than full time hrs to try and have everything in place in time - (i'll be able to take the time back in lieu when things settle down again) but the sudden change in pace combined with also being 17w pregnant is tough!

Rockbird · 28/05/2020 15:41

Lucky thing! I'm going to be home for the foreseeable as I'm one of the underlying issues gang and I'm so bloody bored I could chew my own head off. I can't stand it much more.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 28/05/2020 16:08

Two out of our 3 sites start returning as of Monday...guess who works at the 3rd one and has another month to go. I'm so jealous. Sad

hm246 · 28/05/2020 16:33

Yay! Good luck

**For others saying about short notice, just a heads up, are expected to be available to work at all times and gov is suggesting 48 hours may be nice.

The furlough contracts where I work say you can be called back to work at 24 hours notice ( not that it effects me I’m on maternity leave )

sobersides · 28/05/2020 16:56

That must be great for you OP. I was furloughed just as I was about to start in a new role so I'm doubly anxious about going back. I'd quite like a soft start on part time hours and yes, I'm wondering which clothes will fit. Good Luck!

Livebythecoast · 28/05/2020 17:09

Hope your day was okay OP 😁. I'm the opposite - been working full time (NHS , not frontline, GP surgery) and I've got annual leave next week and can't wait to relax!! I know I've been one of the lucky ones to have still been working - think I would have gone stir crazy at home but a week off I can cope with!
