Anyone got an Apple Watch?

Is it worth the price? I cycle and I run, but don't currently track what I do. If you've got one, how good is It?

I have a Garmin to track running and cycling and I think it does it better, records amd analyses more information as standard without buying add ons ( and is cheaper to begin with). DS has an Apple watch, which is undoubtedly prettier as a piece of jewellery.

For sporty stuff I would get something like the Garmin as PP says, I have an Apple Watch which is more of an all rounder for taking calls, texts, music and more general exercise so not so much detail for that.

I do, I love it. I have a S5 stainless steel gold.

I don’t wear traditional watches anymore, I just wear my Apple Watch daily and switch the bands up depending on the occasion, as I don’t want to be without the smart watch capabilities.

I’m a tech fan though so if you’re not into tech, your mileage may vary and another cheaper option may suit you.

It’s designed as an iPhone companion so you’ll get more detailed information via the activity iPhone app. I have no complaints with it, I run and weight train. I also use it for notifications and mindfulness

@Mnthrowaway20202

I have an iPhone too which is why I thought about the watch. I'm not sure I could justify the price difference between an S3 and an S5 though?

I had an Apple watch ds has it now because he likes the fact that it’s an Apple Watch. I have a Fitbit versa now and like it so much more in terms of tracking. Friends that are much more serious about fitness than me love the garmin watches.
Apple Watch is nice looking but tbh is really over priced for what it does.

I wouldn’t have bought an Apple Watch myself as there are other waaayyy cheaper options that do the same job. But. DH surprised me with one a couple of christmases ago and I actually really like it. I have the Nike running club version. I use it for running, cycling and swimming and find it tracks fairly accurately and gives me all the detail I need about performance. Looks fine as a watch and I really like getting my messages etc on it from being synced to my iPhone - so I don’t have to faff about digging in my bag to find the phone when I get a message etc.

I absolutely love mine and it really motivates me to move, stand and do my cardio every day. I think that it's a much better lifestyle monitor than anything else out there and is just really simple to use. I'm not into any particular sport so I don't know how much better it is than one of the better sport ones but i had a misfit and it was awful by comparison. The Apple Watch is really easy to use and it's also good for the extra functions although to be honest there isn't that much that it will do that I couldn't do on my phone! My dh has the 5 and I have the 3 and I honestly don't think that his was worth the extra. His has an ECG monitor on it but if you don't have a heart condition you don't need that and it will still monitor your heart rate adequately. I genuinely love mine - I got it after my df had a slight heart attack in February and I got a real fright and during this pandemic it's really come into its own - sometimes I do 10,000 steps around my flat now and I've been really motivated to take the stairs or walk more. I'd say it's been worth every penny for mine.

One of my favourite ever things and I'd be gutted, GUTTED, if I ever lost it.

I have a lovely rose gold S5, bought as a present.
TBH it’s expensive just to look at the time on it but the longer I have it the more I am using the other features.
I like the Activity rings and endeavour to close them each day.
I walk every day and do a workout. I like the walking app that tells me how far I’ve walked and how many mins per mile.
I also have started to answer calls on it too.
As it’s linked to the iphone you do need to have the iphone with you to be able to make and answer calls for instance.
