Period late but negative test.

My period which is usually regular is now 4 days late, I've had no normal symptoms of my period like I usually do a few days before it comes on (cramps/backache). I had a negative pregnancy test yesterday so unsure what's going on.

We use condoms and as far as I know none broke.

Probably not pregnant then. My period was randomly two weeks late last month, no obvious reason for it. I guess sometimes it just happens, can be down to stress or other factors.

@Sanch1 That's what I was thinking, I have been stressed lately but then I always am Grin I'm going to give it till Friday and if still a no show I'll give the doctors a ring as it's definitely usual for me.

I had a fibroid once which made my period a few weeks late. Could be that.

@FarquarKumquatsmama Interesting! I've just looked up Fibroids as I'd never heard of them before. I've had really bad pain during sex for over 3 years now and a gynaecologist couldn't find a reason- could it be a fibroid? Can they last for years?

There was a thread recently with loads of us finding our periods have been thrown off recently. I think its possibly the mass anxiety, stress and uncertainty.

FarquarKumquatsmama · 27/05/2020 16:23

@coffeeandflowers

Honestly I don’t know too much about them. I think they show up on an ultrasound though. Did your gynae give you an internal ultrasound?

hotcrossbun4321 · 27/05/2020 16:43

I was randomly 3 weeks late this month - the change in routine and constant low-level stress of lockdown seemed to be the culprit. Perhaps keep an eye on things next month?

coffeeandflowers · 27/05/2020 17:12

@FarquarKumquatsmama No ultrasound actually so maybe this could be a possibility!

Still nothing today. Another negative test but bad nausea (don't know if it's anxiety related!) and keep waking up drenched in sweat. Sad

I'm calling the doctors tomorrow morning if no period today.
