Work issues

My apraisal feedback came back and there are points with which I totally disagree and I find unfair (blown out of proportion)

How does one deal with these situations as it is the first time it has happened to me and is unexpected? I have heard of people refusing to sign the form or asking for rectifications - is there any point in doing it?

Secondly, is there a professional manner of mentioning something akin to being ghosted at work? It is wearing me down a lot, I have lost confidence and I don't know how to deal with it.

Your appraisal - I think you should challenge the points with which you disagree, making sure you prepare yourself well with evidence to refute them. Ask for a meeting to go through the points and keep it as factual as possible. Where I work, you can raise a grievance about your appraisal if disagreements can't be resolved informally. Whether it's worth taking it down a formal route depends on what's resting on it - does it affect your pay rise, bonus or promotion prospects?

Ghosting sounds like the sort of thing that my workplace would use informal mediation to try to resolve. The first step would be to raise it with your manager (I'd suggest separately to any discussion about your appraisal). Again, if your work life is being made difficult you need to raise this - it amounts to a form of bullying so should not go unchallenged.
