Permanent blackhead on jawline

Ukelele3 · 26/05/2020 23:01

I've had a permanent black head bump on my jawline. I had a similar blackhead elsewhere which I broke and it caused a massive injury to the skin and resulted in a swollen pigmented "bruise" that looks like someone's put out a cigarette on me so I'm really worried about trying anything like that on my face.

I've had this blackhead for at least 6 months (I normally only get whiteheads - this is the second blackhead I've ever had) so not sure what I can do. Any tried and tested ideas, please?

We need a photo to assess first OP

@50shadesoflunacy here it is - really hard to photograph especially under artificial light. It’s the black vertical line looking bumping on the jawline. It looks like a vertical line but it’s actually one blackhead on top of another (giving a line effect). It’s completely painless but seems not to budge at all (whiteheads seem to disappear without intervention)

Put a calpol syringe over it, suck the black head out!

Deffo an ingrown hair in my opinion

@StayAlert it's two dots like :
(it's not one long line if that's what makes you think it looks like an ingrown hair). Thanks though.

I think it's a hair. You could try a scrub daily or steaming your face. You are very lucky it's only your second blackhead (or less ! )

Yes to the syringe idea, it’s so satisfying when it come out

FlibbertyGiblets · 26/05/2020 23:39

I'm having a rootle for a Calpol syringe in the Drawer of Doom. Might be hard as the Calpol Years are but dim and distant. For a friend, you understand...

turnthebiglightoff · 26/05/2020 23:39

It looks like it's ending will be satisfying! I've got tons on my chin and I've tried everything to get rid of them. Anyone got a miracle cure? I love the calpol syringe idea Grin

I concur with the ingrowing hair. A sterile needle and pointed tweezers might be able to get it out, or at least free it up a bit.

Kaydogsdinner · 27/05/2020 01:22

Maybe try some magnesium sulphate paste, it might draw it out

GlamGiraffe · 27/05/2020 01:43

Steam your face for ages over a bowl of boiling water with a towel over your head. Wait until you ate dripping with sweat and then repeat! Give a firm but gentle squeeze from the sides but underneath ishe with tissue wrapped fingers. It should come out. Sometime you need to loosen the head gently with a sterile needle without breaking any skin then squeeze!
