Anyone else have furlough shame?

I've been off work since April and unlikely to return for a while yet (I work in large events). I have colleagues in accounts who have their nose to the grindstone from home. I just feel incredibly guilty. I am expecting that my job will be even less secure if I am ever unfurloughed but for now I am doing a bit of volunteering, attempting home ed and gardening. Is anyone else feeling like this?

I'm not furloughed, but am a manager who has had to furlough people so whilst I don't know how it feels to receive that news, I've spoken to enough people to know how it's received and the rock/hard place businesses are in.

Don't feel ashamed - why would you? You work in events which has been severely impacted.

I say good on you for being productive and volunteering. Hope things pick up for you soon Smile

I'm not furloughed but I work four days at home. I don't have enough work to keep me busy and I feel guilty about being paid when I'm not working! I've been gardening, doing housework, baking all during my "working day". I just keep telling myself I'm doing all I've been given and its probably not going to be much longer before I'm in the office 9-5 complaining about the sun shining outside whole I'm stuck indoors! Some of my colleagues dont even log in to check emails Confused
