Leaving child all day

At what age did you leave your child alone at home when you went to work 9-5 but not every day of the week.

They'd definitely be more useful if they were all day.

But they are still useable as childcare for some people (those who live close, those who WFH and could do drop off/pick-up, those who can share lifts with other parents, those with grandparents etc etc etc).

Yeah, sure. They could be of some use, especially for people who can juggle pick ups.

I just know anecdotally that from when ds was small, almost any kid who went to a sport /dance/drama camp had a stay at home or term time working parent!

When dd was 11 and home alone for the day she slipped and cut her toe. She put a tea towel on it to stem the blood and sat down and started phoning. I was at work and at that moment dh was driving so she then rang a grandparent, who rang a relative to come round. By the time said relative arrived dd had unlocked the front door and raised her foot up on the sofa.
We were happy to leave her at 11 because we knew she was sensible, we hadn't realised quite how sensible.
I dont think it's a matter of what age but more knowing your child's capabilities.
