Blue badge parking - not what you think.

Yesterday we went to a country park, busy car park but parked in the last disabled spot. Older couple shouted out their window that's a blue badge spot. We replied we knew as ds had a badge. Dh was a bit snappy so I apologised from a distance and said we get a bit defensive and sorry for snapping.
We saw them in the park later and had a chat from a distance, admired ds wheelchair and everyone was happy.
I appreciate we don't look like we need a disabled spot as a family and think they were just making sure we didn't make a parking mistake or were being cf. They appreciated we get fed up of being questioned and we apologised.
Left me feeling glad that some people can be polite and that a parking query doesn't have to end in tears.

Maybe the nosy buggers will learn to mind their own business in future. My friend has an autistic child with a blue badge and gets it all the time because her child "doesn't look disabled." One older man was particularly nasty to her for being in a disabled toilet with her child when he wanted to get in.

Glad you got some sensible people this time. I don't think I ever have, in all the time I've taken my dad, or my late mum out and about. People have some weird ideas about who can have a blue badge.

People should just keep their noses out full stop. I had one man practically frothing whilst bawling at me for taking a disabled space, how dare I etc etc...his gas was put at a peep as I pushed past him to help my mother get my dads wheelchair over to the car. I then said ‘if you’ve quite finished, warmer rather busy here!’
