Cool trainers for DS 9?

Are Nike Air Max 270's still the in thing or have times moved on? I'm looking at those or Air Max 2090 that have just come out?

DS has done really well with homeschool and general lockdown so looking for some 'treat trainers.' I'm well aware about not following the crowd etc but he'd really like to have the latest thing if at all possible...

Why don’t you let him choose them? Then he can pick what he likes rather than just buying the latest trend or what society dictates he should like

Blimey I'm not even sure my 9 year old knows what Nike is never mind air maxs 😂. She does actually have a pair of Nikes but she's not aware of the brand. Not being judgy OP just find it interesting the differences! Is he more mature generally? DD is still very much into Barbies etc. I agree with above though let him pick.

TokyoSushi · 26/05/2020 11:17

Yes will definitely let him pick!

Nike have got 30% off at the moment...just ordered my 9 year old DS some. He has a 15 year old brother so is very aware of what is “cool” and what isn’t!

TokyoSushi · 26/05/2020 12:05

Thanks! What did you order? @ihearttc

I've been thinking how to word this, and I realise it sounds massive 'first world problem' however I say it, so...

Last summer was that I let him choose, then a couple of weeks later, at least in our area, every child and their dog had Air Max 270's, DS didn't and was desperate to have some, as another way of fitting in I suppose. I'm just conscious that the same thing doesn't happen again (as they're really expensive!) so don't want to buy something expensive, only to find out he really wants something else a couple of weeks later!

I ordered some 2090’s which I’ve just realised don’t qualify for the 30% off and some Air Force 1’s which don’t either...so my comment wasn’t very helpful after all!!

ihearttc · 26/05/2020 12:11

My older son has 270’s but he wears them out with his mates (obviously before this!) as he doesn’t like them now. He has Air Force 1’s and some Vapormax.

Thank you! Fortunately DS has small feet so I can get away with the smaller prices!

I got my 9 year old some nike pico 5 in grey recently. I can’t remember how much, they were from sports direct, but cheaper than Clark’s. He didn’t pick them but he loves them.

@TokyoSushi
The issue we have is DS is a 3.5 and half sizes are really hard to find in shops!!
I seem to have boys with big feet...his 15 year old brother is a size 11!!

TokyoSushi · 26/05/2020 12:33

DS is only a 1, happy days!!
