Bring an animal back

QuestionableMouse · 26/05/2020 00:32

Any animal from any era.

I'd bring mammoths back. I find them absolutely fascinating and can't imagine something that big.

What would you bring back?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 26/05/2020 00:34

The dodo. (If birds count.)

Gammeldragz · 26/05/2020 00:35

Pterodactyls. Unless they eat people?

Gammeldragz · 26/05/2020 00:35

But I would enjoy mammoths too.

StumblingOffTheRocks · 26/05/2020 00:35

The dodo. It seemed fairly harmless, poor thing.

QuestionableMouse · 26/05/2020 00:36

Yeah birds count too. 😀

I'm watching Ice Age Giants on the BBC if anyone is curious what brought this on 😂

A baby dinosaur.

QuestionableMouse · 26/05/2020 01:05

Ooh. Which one?

OP posts:
ALongHardWinter · 26/05/2020 01:11

Awlookatmybabyspider You'd have to make sure it was one that wasn't going to grow too big! I mean, baby tyrannosaurus rex's are cute. Not so cute when they're fully grown!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/05/2020 01:17

Oh any id want it to stay a cute little baby forever. Grin. Can you imagine how adorable one of those would have been.

GarlicSoup · 26/05/2020 01:24

Saber tooth tiger 🐯

QuestionableMouse · 26/05/2020 01:27

I bet they'd be scary as fuck.

The kittens were born with teeth and they were partly serrated. Ouch!

OP posts:
Gingernaut · 26/05/2020 01:33

The giant penguins

The Thylacine

I'd also like to enlarge the Tasmanian Devil population.

QuestionableMouse · 26/05/2020 01:38

Ooh yes to all of those!

Not strictly an animal but neanderthals. It would be fascinating to see a human ancestor in the flesh.

queenofblingbling · 26/05/2020 01:43

Quagga (like a zebra/horse hybrid)

PatricksRum · 26/05/2020 06:42

Dodo!

MyFuckingFairyGarden · 26/05/2020 06:44

Ankylosaurus

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/05/2020 06:58

Another vote for the Dodo

BillywigSting · 26/05/2020 07:02

If you want a tiny dinosaur go for a microraptor, so named because it was about the size of a turkey (looked a bit like a velociraptor but with feathers on its head too).

My vote goes to the bear dogs from the eocene

QueenOfThorns · 26/05/2020 07:07

A triceratops please! They wouldn’t eat people, so I’d be fine keeping it in the back garden, right?

Pinkywoo · 26/05/2020 07:08

Either a triceratops or the moa, or I'd save the kakapo from going extinct, who doesn't love a parrot so fat it looks like a green football!

Pelleas · 26/05/2020 07:28

The passenger pigeon.

Deathraystare · 26/05/2020 08:13

The dodo. (If birds count.)

Yes, agreed but then the saying "As dead as a Dodo" would be extinct! I guess we could live with that!

Deathraystare · 26/05/2020 08:44

I'd also like to enlarge the Tasmanian Devil population.

Yes that would be great. I watch Bondi Vet (quest Red Channel) and the vet occasionally visits a zoo where they are some devils. Apparently there is a deadly facial tumour thingy that some get.

vampirethriller · 26/05/2020 09:31

Terror bird, I think it's called that. And a titanoboa.
A mammoth if those are too big and violent.

Ohlordysugarandspice · 26/05/2020 09:35

Brontosaurus
