I just picked up a secondhand stand mixer I found on Facebook. It's obviously been well used and the beater isn't quite as shiny as the dough hook is (as you can see). There is a noticeable metallic smell coming from the beater, will it still be okay to use? It's not going to make my cakes taste metallic is it? I've been scouring the internet for weeks and when I saw this one pop up on Facebook last night I snapped it up straight away!
