Kitchens - ceiling height units

Hi all. I’m tentatively looking at redoing my kitchen at some point, and I really want to get rid of the space above the cupboards - where would I look to get these? I’ve been googling but struggling to find any.

I also really want a full height corner larder cupboard (saw one on Pinterest and now I need one!), but unsure where to get one of those from either.

Any recommendations please? Many thanks :)

My new kitchen units are ceiling height from Wickes. So much better than the old ones.

Thanks, that’s one place I haven’t looked :)

I also really want corner drawers - damn Pinterest for giving me all these ideas Grin

I've had 2 kitchens done and both times I was told not to get kitchen height as ceilings are very rarely level (especially in older houses) and so they might meet the ceiling in one area but not in another.

Hmm that’s a very good point. Looking at my ceilings closely, they’re not level :(

My parents have ceiling height ones but it makes the kitchen feel small and you need steps to get things in and out of the top parts, so they end up full of stuff that never gets used.

Surely uneven ceilings could be hidden by top moulding? L

We're looking to redo our kitchen soon and one of my must haves is ceiling height cabinets. Less space to catch dust and more storage. Win win

LivingThatLockdownLife · 25/05/2020 13:23

IKEA do them.

In reality they would fit a cover piece along the top of the cupboards to bridge the gap. Same as happens at the end of a run of units.

Yes, uneven ceilings are easily sorted although mine are fine. I need steps to get stuff off the second shelf let alone the third 😂.
I used to have to climb on the worktops to clean the top of my old cupboards and despite my best intentions they were often cluttered and looked ugly and untidy. Much prefer my new ones.

Cover piece is what we used.

I think it looks better than cupboards flush with the ceiling

I got mine from Howdens, love full height, no crap on top, no having to clean on top. Just stand on a step and put the stuff you hardly ever use in the top sections, all hidden away.

We have ceiling height cupboards and they are great. We have a tiny galley kitchen though (just three units wide), so we have basically doubled our storage space.

We do need a step to get stuff out of the top shelf, but I am 5’1 and need a step to get stuff out of the bottom shelf as well unless it is right at the front, so makes no odds to me.

Thanks all. I’m looking through the places mentioned :)
