Faint BFP, period, Faint BFP again...

I’ve posted this in pregnancy but no answer so...

Has anyone had this?

Last month I was getting very, very faint BFPs on different pregnancy tests. Then my period arrived so I thought it was either a chemical or just faulty tests.

Anyway I’m now 15 day’s after my period ended and I took another test (I don’t know why!) but I got another very faint BFP.

It can’t possibly be a new pregnancy because I’m 1/2DPO but if it was a pregnancy from the previous month surely the BFP would be very clear.

Has anyone had this? And what was the outcome?

I had positive tests twice just after periods - tested due to oddness (headache, sore boobs and the like).

I was pregnant both times but both were ectopic so not great outcomes I'm afraid. With hindsight both my periods were very odd (heavy dark and just weird).

I know others who have had good outcomes in similar positions though - my nephew is a result of one and he's a hulking great 18 year old now.

Was your period normal? I had this but with a light period (normally very heavy) on my last 2 pregnancies.
How faint a line is it? Is it getting stronger or fading? Mine were much paler than the control until 3 months, but did very slowly darken. If it’s getting lighter the hcg might be leaving your system.

Yes period was normal. Lasted for 4 days and went through the normal stages of light to heavy and back to light again.

There is no real difference in the tests.

Picture one is from last month taken on the day before period arrived. And picture 2 is from this morning.

They do look positive. How confusing. I’d try and get one of those pregnant/ not pregnant ones if I were you.

whatthebloodynora · 25/05/2020 14:37

Yes I’m going to get one later today. Do you think it would be worth a doctors appointment?

If you can get one I think that would be a good idea!

Florencenotflo · 25/05/2020 15:38

The clearblue pregnant/not pregnant ones aren't as sensitive though so it may not help. I was getting positives on first response tests at 9-10 dpo but the clearblue one still said not pregnant until I was about 4 days late for my period.

Definite lines to me,

whatthebloodynora · 25/05/2020 16:16

It’s just so random! I’m hoping the doctors will at least let me have a blood test. Thanks for responses.

Heavl87 · 03/06/2022 13:49

Hello iv been getting faint lines on first response for 3 months an bleeding every month. Has anyone had this an actually been pregnant or is this a matter for the doctor? Please any advice appreciated

whatthebloodynora · 03/06/2022 18:01

Hello @Heavl87 it was a good outcome, i was pregnant and now have a 1 year old.

fingers crossed for you. Any chance you can get a blood test? That’s what confirmed the pregnancy for me! All bleeding stopped at about 10 weeks.
