Cloud Nine straighteners - do you recommend and if so which ones for fine hair?

Going to treat myself to a pair of Cloud Nine straighteners for the birthday I never got to celebrate Grin

Looking on Very’s site and there seem to be three different types. The original iron, The wide iron and The touch iron.

I’ve no idea which to go for! Also can you recommend a heat protection spray please.

@SweetMarmalade I have the Touch ones and really like them! They're easily as good as my original GHD irons which are waiting to be repaired.

I have very thick hair, which I often (at the mo) leave to dry naturally & they straighten it well. I find my hair stays straight for two days (although in normal times I wash/dry/straighten most days because I work in a kitchen & some smells stick ).

I'm no use to recommend a heat spray though, I just use a cheap one from Bodycare. That said; I did have a V05 one a while ago that I liked and it smelled lovely :)

YES, 100% recommend. They are the best straighteners I’ve ever had - miles better than GHDs. I’ve had the wide plate ones for maybe four years now and I still love them. They’re not actually that wide but they cut down on straightening time; I wouldn’t want to use narrower ones.

I have naturally curly hair, very fine strands but lots of it. It keeps it smooth and straight for days and it doesn’t go fluffy when it’s humid.

@lucysmam thank you! I was hoping you’d say The touch iron as they are the cheapest Grin probably all I need for my fine hair anyway.

@amusedbush thank you, good to read you view on the wide iron.

My hair is poker straight and fine but needs straightening to give it that sleek look, otherwise I might have been tempted by the wider plates.

Good to know you both love them though.

I spent a long time debating whether to just buy some cheapy straighteners or splash out, after my GHD's gave up & read a lot of reviews first as well as asking here & a few other places.

They're really good.

I even put mine back in their box, once they cool down, every time I use them Blush Grin

Cloud nine do their own protection spray ‘drying potion’ it’s called. Lasts ages and best product I’ve used. I also have the touch irons, much better than GHD’s now.

@SweetMarmalade

It sounds like you’d be fine with the narrow ones then. If you’ve got the cash then I say go for it, they’re worth every penny!

jollybobs89 · 25/05/2020 22:44

Much better than ghds love my cloud 9s really worth it!!

SweetMarmalade · 25/05/2020 23:00

@lucysmam and why not Grin do they cool down quite quickly?

@Groundhogdayzz that’s one of the sprays showing in Very’s site alongside the straighteners, is it for heat protection? I can’t have anything too heavy on my hair otherwise it just weighs it down and makes it look greasy.

@amusedbush I’m definitely going to treat myself, my current straighteners are embarrassing and probably wrecking my hair.

@jollybobs89 thank you! I’ve never owned a decent pair, not even the GHDs.

Yes-it’s for extreme heat protection apparently. My hair has never felt so soft, and less split ends since using it. If you use too much it can make hair a bit greasy so just use the tiniest amount (especially if you have thin hair) and comb though, shake the bottle well before using.

SweetMarmalade · 25/05/2020 23:15

@Groundhogdayzz thanks, might be another treat I add to the order Grin
