What do you do once the kids are in bed?

what do you usually so once your children are asleep? I usually find myself tidying up and doing the housework bits I didn't manage during the day. Just wondering what everyone else gets up to?

Read, watch something, have a bath, sometimes work, chat with DH, play games together or separately. Mostly reading lately.

Chill on the sofa with my phone looking at mumsnet etc then go upstairs and do my night time cleansing. Then I climb into bed and watch something on tv or watch youtube or read on kindle until I'm unable to keep my eyes open any longer.

Go to bed, get up 5 mins later and tell the kids to go to bed again, go back to bed, turn over when DS comes into my room to ask a deep philosophical question, tell him to go to bed, get out of bed for a wee go back to bed then read for a bit before realising I forgot to put the bins out.

Sit down. Dick about on my phone with Netflix on. Contemplate going to the kitchen for tea and snacks but 99 times out of 100 decide against as its on a different floor to the living room and I can't be arsed.

Go to bed around now-ish and every night think it's a bit too late.

Single parent and really very bored of the bits of my life without the kids.

Cook, have a glass of wine, chat to DH, eat dinner, watch telly, collapse...

Watch a film or tv show and piss about on my phone. I rarely do housework when the kids go to bed, it’s my time to do fuck all! I chat with DH too, we like watching tv shows together.

Oh God.

Go downstairs and hoover entire downstairs. Believe me, it bloody needs it. Get laptop out and work till midnight. Crawl to bed. Get woken up approximately 34 seconds later by someone needing a poo. Weep a little.

Bank holiday special version- clean the exterior windows as you can see the dirt even at night and cannot get a window cleaner for love nor money. Then clean all interior windows, dust, pick up downstairs. Then crawl to bed and begin schedule as above.

Fun times.

At the moment I'm watching a revolting but transfixing documentary about an unfortunate man with overgrown bollocks. In between moving the sprinkler around on the lawn and tending to multiple requests for water and other delaying tactics from the kids, and letting the dog in and out every two seconds. I usually give the kitchen a good clean as I hate coming down to a mucky kitchen in the morning.
