Because I don't! What do I need to consider when looking for one for DS. He's 10, (with dyspraxia) and would use it just for playing down the paved path between our block of flats and the next.
Is his size and weight a consideration? Or are the different lengths preference. We do have a ramp at the park nearby but I'm not sure that will be something for him, at least not for a long time yet as his balance is questionable.

I have just bought a skateboard for the 5 year old. Hasn’t a clue so I googled...then searched online for the right size. Got an apparently great starter kit for £59 from Skatehut U.K. included the board, helmet and all the guards.
