Where/how do I sell my banger?

My car is 14 years old and getting expensive to keep on the road and I hardly use it. Even before lockdown I only did about 6,000 miles max a year of local driving. I’m thinking of getting an Ebike instead but I’ve never sold a car and don’t know where to start. The bodywork is a mess as I’ve pranged it over the years and not been able to afford the cosmetic work to get it looking ok. But it’s had yearly services and essential repairs done . Can anyone recommend a good place /way to sell it please? I don’t want to be ripped off which would be easy to do as I know nothing about cars or the selling/buying of them.

I helped my fil shift his car through auto trader. We put it on for three days and sold on the first day. It was a Volvo 04 plate. The people that came to collect it were very pleased as it was in good condition.

That sounds good. Thanks Long. Will go take a look. 3 days sounds really quick.

I recently sold my late dads car - it was low mileage but the body work was a total mess as he wasn't a very careful driver and it was parked on a busy road.
I put in on Facebook marketplace for half the value Autotrader told me it would be in good condition, and it sold that day to the second viewer. I had loads of interest as locally there is demand for cars that drive well, but they don't have to worry about dings etc. People refer to them as site cars

Dibbler I didn’t realise there was a name for something beaten up but otherwise ok. That’s very good to know! The amount of use get from t is making it not at all cost effective to run but it’s a good car despite its battered appearance.

I bought mine from Facebook marketplace. There are pages specifically for cheap bangers. From my experience they go quickly as every car I showed interest in was gone before I could even arrange a viewing.
