Would you rather: flavour or texture?

(just a fun chat to distract from C-19)
So I was watching a food vlogger who visited a Mexican vegan restaurant and they were talking about how the flavours were off but the textures were spot on and it got me thinking,
If you started eating alternative foods what would be more important to you, flavour or texture?

Flavour 100%.

Texture, I think.

I really like sweetcorn soup from my Chinese takeaway, but the texture is like phlegm so I can only have a tiny amount.

Texture!

flavour, of course.

vlogger = pointless pretentious person of no practical value. Sounds like a real-life version of the 'It's grim up north London' characters in Private Eye!

How is a vlogger a pointless pretentious person? Themed vloggers are often inciteful and informative and show different aspects of the world we might not typically see?

And wow I'm surprised by the texture votes see for me I wouldn't care about texture too much its all about flavour 😂

I can’t eat couscous due to the texture. The taste is fine but I don’t like the feel of it in my mouth, so I am probably more a texture person.

Flavour- hands down!

I've never been out for a meal and thought- Hmm, that texture is divine!!! Hmm

ErrolTheDragon · 24/05/2020 17:45

Superficially it seems like flavour would be important, but I reckon if there are things you really dislike eating that can sometimes be more down to texture.

Zaphodsotherhead · 24/05/2020 17:48

Flavour.

I couldn't eat a meal with an unpleasant flavour or that didn't taste of anything, however lovely the texture might be.

I struggle with stuff with too much cornflour in, as that's too 'silky' for me, but if it tastes good, hell, I'll force it down!
