Inspired by the JD thread, it seems that her books have taken over a bit!
I've been buying my DC (5 & 4) a lot of the Alan Ahlberg books recently. They love the Happy Families range and Funnybones. Any other suggestions?

My two are teenagers now but they loved

The Tiger who came to tea

Bear Hunt

Burglar Bill (we went to see this at the Fringe so we read it with a cockney accent, as per the play)

No matter what (I especially loved this and occasionally refer to it now).

My just turned 6yr old loves the mr men and little miss books. We’ve been reading them since she was 4, now she can read them by herself.

My daughter (5.5yo) is mad about Roald Dahl books. She can't read them herself yet but she loves having them read to her, and also has a set of the audiobooks that she listens to at bedtime or while colouring in etc.

Jolly Postman is also a favourite.

All the fairy tale books my children especially love the magic porridge pot, three billy goats gruff, the three little pigs and Goldilocks.
My six year old enjoyed me reading the faraway tree and the wishing chair by Enid blyton to him. I’m reading fantastic mr fox to him at the moment and we are both really enjoying it!

For Reception/Yr1 sort of stage- Claude books by Alex T Smith. Even funny for adults. Bit longer than the picture books for toddlers.
