Gas BBQ

Have bought a gas bbq for the first time - have always gone for charcoal before.

This may be a silly question - but is there a way to get the same “smoked” sort of flavour that you have with a charcoal one? I’ve seen you can buy wood pellets- but don’t really understand how this works?

Any tips?

My dh has a metal smoker and you put flavoured soaked wood chips into it when using the bbq

Where do you put it - on the gas flame? Does it slow down the cooking though? Am so clueless Blush
