What's everyone up to today?

I'm only just considering getting dressed. I've been sitting in the kitchen, with the window open, listening to the wind in my big trees.

The washer needs to go on, and last night's pots need to go away.

I want to finish replacing the old sealant round my kitchen, give my pantry door another lick of paint, and figure out whether I can buy a generic replacement hose for my dryer off ebay or not. Oh, and find a spice rack so I can get rid of the satsuma crate they're currently in (probably repurpose for the pantry).

Dd2 wants to do some more of her paint by numbers, so we'll do that. She's Minecrafting atm. She wants us to use matching (monkey) sheet masks later on too. So that'll be fun.

Dd1 is still asleep. Not sure what she wants to do yet, other than make honeycomb. She's been doing at least half an hour on Just Dance a day so will do that at some point.

What about you lot? :)

Just came on to look for one of these threads, perfect timing Grin

So far I’ve had a lie in, drink lots of coffee and done a mini 10 min workout. DH has been to the garden centre to get plants for our new pond.

I have gardening to do later and I also want to shop online for sandals, do some other admin-y bits, and drink more coffee while I do so. I would LOVE to get my new puzzle out and do some more of that but I suspect DS (4) would try to join in and drive me nuts. DD (7) probably wants to bake, so we’ll do that today or tomorrow as well.

Fajitas for dinner later, I will be looking forward to those all day Smile - oo, must get chicken out of freezer.

@FromTheAllotment I'm not sure what's for tea yet. Fajitas sounds like a good idea, they always go down well with the girls.

It’s party day here and I’m waiting for DP and DC to return from a dog walk to do a treasure hunt. Just had a horrible wave of loneliness and social anxiety though Sad I’m not sure if the quiet at home party has triggered it. Can only think about some friendships that have waned not my closer ones for some reason- what a funk to get in...

iVampire · 23/05/2020 11:47

I’m shielding

I have entered a virtual 5k race so will be running round the back yard, and then have (courtesy of a lovely friend thinking of me when she went to the garden centre) a tray of petunias to plant out.

DS will game the day away (like every other day)

DD might go out for a rigidly distanced bike ride with a friend, but I’ve not set eyes on her yet so don’t know. But she will be walking DPuppy at some point. But quite probably not until the evening when there will be fewer people around

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 23/05/2020 12:00

It was DH's birthday earlier in the week, but as he was working we're celebrating today.

I got up with the kids and kept them entertained while DH had a lie in, then took him smoked salmon bagels and Buck's Fizz for breakfast. Then after my shower I had my coffee and a play with the kittens who visit our garden and terrorise our big ginger.

DC and I have just made DH's cake (it's going to be a Victoria sponge with strawberry jam and whipped cream - he's a man of simple tastes) and I'm waiting for it to bake.

Later I have to pop out to get more cat food for Casper the big ginger (he's a fussy bugger, so it can only be bought in pet shops) and a new litter box, as he's put his foot through the old one. Confused

This evening I'll make us a curry and we'll have the cake for pudding, then have a family movie night with popcorn and sweets. The DC have been wanting to watch Detective Pikachu for ages!

As lockdown days go, this one should be quite nice.

CremeEggThief · 23/05/2020 15:58

I'm having a day reading in bed.

I will get up in a few hours to make dinner and do the washing up. Probably.

FromTheAllotment · 23/05/2020 19:45

Cremeeggthief that sounds amazing!!!
